Not all the actors have a great run when playing superheroes, and here is a list of a few of them who may never play superhero roles again:
1. Andrew Garfield
Garfield had a lot of fun playing the superhero of Spiderman and wearing the red and blue suit. But he says that it is more of a jam than being part himself. Which means that we will not see the actor playing the superhero soon again.
2. Jessica Alba
While Fantastic 4 Films were trash, there was something worse than its direction. It was the director himself, and this had made Jessica Alba quit her entire acting business. She said, during a scene where she was supposed to cry, the director told her, “It looks too real. … Can you be prettier when you cry? … Don’t do that thing with your face. Just make it flat. We can CGI the tears in.”
3. Christian Bale
Bale undoubtedly will be THE BATMAN for many audiences. The Welsh actor is famous for being one who gets into the role. But while on set he was famous for his angry attitude as he felt suffocated in the suit and helmet.
4. Edward Norton
When Ed Norton had come into being, Hulk, everyone was overjoyed. The actor wanted to be in the editing of this film, but when Marvel refused, he said NO to doing the press.
5. Hugh Jackman
This has to be the saddest news yet. For 17 years, he has been Wolverine. An entire generation grew up seeing him being the hero, and he says, “Never Again”.
6. Hugo Weaving
Hugo Weaving is critically acclaimed actor did star in an Avengers film. The actor had played the role of Nazi leader, Red Skull in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. This film laid foundations for all the Avengers Films.
7. Sam Raimi
Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man series was great. But the third part was not that great. He could not believe in the characters and it was shown on screen.
8. Jack Nicholson
Nicholson may not be as famous with the young generation because of Heath Ledger’s performance as the Joker, but this guy had a run of 20 years. This was a disappointment to the older generation who had grown up seeing him as the Joker.
9. Mickey Rourke
He had played Whiplash in ‘Iron Man 2’ which was a Rourke comeback and he had said a few words on how the filmmakers had let him down. “I’m not a Marvel fan. Once I did a Marvel film and they cut the whole goddamn thing out.”
10. Idris Elba
Idris Elba had spent 8 months enacting Nelson Mandela when he had to return to the supporting role of Heimdall in ‘Thor: The Dark World.’ “In between takes I was stuck there, fake hair stuck on to my head with glue, this f***ing helmet, while they reset. And I’m thinking: ‘24 hours ago, I was Mandela’…Then there I was, in this stupid harness, with this wig and this sword and these contact lenses. It ripped my heart out.” He told the Daily Telegraph in an interview.
