Wolverine and Deadpool are two popular characters in Marvel comic books in the 20th Century Fox X-Men universe, and one of them has not yet hit the theatres properly.

The only time we have seen them fight, Deadpool was not himself. He had swords coming out of his hands:

In the fight scene, he is granted teleportation and something that does not reflect his comic book counterpart.

Hugh Jackman has hung his Wolverine claws after Logan, but there are rumors floating of his cameo in Deadpool 2.

So Wolvy and Deadpool fought many times in comics, but the outcome depends on external narrative factors as the characters are very closely matched.

Comic book continuity messes with rules and both Wolverine and Deadpool have lost healing factors at times.

Regeneration

They possess healing power, born as part of the Weapon X Project. We have seen them come back from being torn apart and Deadpool has been decapitated and has healed from that.

Despite that his ability is derived from Wolverine’s it is accepted that Deadpool edges out in healing ability. But Logan has been ripped in half by Hulk, healed from a skeleton in Wolverine: Civil War and run over by a steamroller courtesy of the Punisher and survived the destruction of Hiroshima during World War II.

Strength & Fighting Style

In strength, Wolverine wins due to his Adamantium skeleton which provides him with power and durability with his healing factor. But they are both masters of martial arts, but Deadpool is a superior swordsman. Battle tactic wise, martial artist Wolverine is skilled and resourceful with animal-like senses.

Because Deadpool hard to read, it is more difficult to plan tactically against him, so the winnder here maybe Deaspool.

Short Comic Book History

Wolverine #88

In Wolverine #88 Deadpool laid a big smackdown on Wolverine and pursued his ex-girlfriend, Vanessa, impaling Logan on two swords and left him dead.

At this time Wolverine’s healing factor was not 100% but after the clash with Deadpool it revs up and allows him to confront the merc as he attacks Vanessa and Garrison Kane.

Winner: Deadpool.

But it is not all bad, Wolverine gets to take his revenge in Cable & Deadpool #43. While in search of Hydra villains, Deadpool gets in his way, and Wolverine has no time for that, like in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, he chopped off Deadpool’s head with his Adamantium claws.

Deadpool Kills The Marvel Universe

Deadpool Kills The Marvel Universe. He takes out all the Marvel heroes in a murderous rage, even Uatu the Watcher.

Wolverine gets a dose of the death treatment with Deadpool doing his 4th wall breaking best, and he slices him to pieces.

Winner: Deadpool

Wolverine Origins #21 – 25

In Wolverine Origins #21 – 25, Deadpool is sent to kill Wolverine. And he decides to finish the task by dropping a piano on him.

They battle in Chinatown in San Francisco, and Deadpool overcomes Wolverine. But when all is done it turns out that the whole plan was a scheme concocted by Wolverine, and he walks out, leaving Deadpool, a broken man on the floor.

Winner: Wolverine

In the end, Wolverine’s parting shot to Deadpool at the conclusion of Wolverine Origins #25 is the best way to summarize the relationship between the two:

“An’ maybe you could’a taken me out, maybe not. I don’t give a damn an’ neither should you.”
