Ewan McGregor can now sit back and relax as he will not be bombarded with the questions about the Obi-Wan Kenobi movie. Many months flew by with people hinting that it still may be on the cards. The latest report confirms that Lucasfilm is currently in its early stages. But the Hollywood Reporter also adds that the project still has no script.

The studio is still discussing with the Oscar-nominated director, Stephen Daldry (The Hours, Billy Elliot). He will be directing and overseeing the production of the movie.

Although Lucasfilm may draw a close deal with Daldry, it may be long before the audiences can see the film come together. For all the die-hard Star Wars fans, this is super great news!

According to THR, no official statement has been released if Ewan McGregor will reprise the role as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars. But it doesn’t make much sense to make the movie without him.  Ewan McGregor has been very vocal about his desire to the play the role, and he was the most loved elements of the prequels.

The official announcement of the Obi-Wan Kenobi movie can ease the fans of any nervousness they have about the future of the franchise. Though, they are probably going to wait until “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” comes out, to not take away from what is sure to be their primary focus until the movie arrives on December 15.

Many Star Wars spin-offs are being considered at the moment. These are to take place outside the main Skywalker saga. In fact, Lucasfilm is still considering a Boba Fett movie. This, at one point, had the Fantastic Four director, Josh Trank attached to it, before project tumbled down. The report also mentions that the studio is considering a new Yoda movie as well.

Well, as of now, Lucasfilm has an untitled movie scheduled to arrive in 2020. And it is a little obvious that it may be the Obi-Wan Kenobi movie.
