Although, Peter Parker isn’t the extremely busy head of a global tech giant, however, he can consider himself among those who are employed.

Warning: Spoilers Ahead for Amazing Spider-Man #791

So far, Peter Parker’s career has been quite strange. He survived college by peddling Spider-Man photos to The Daily Bugle, but, never let anyone on the staff know about himself being Peter Parker. Then he started teaching and became a scientist, and his biggest career leap happened when the story jumped eight-months between Secret Wars and the unveiling of All-New Marvel, which showed Parker become the Boss at Parker Industries, the top tech company in Marvel Universe.

All that ended during the Secret Empire, when Parker had to ruin his own company to prevent the Superior Octopus, the reborn Doctor Octopus, who was in cahoots with Captain America’s Hydra, from using the company’s tech to serve Hydra’s goals. Ultimately, Parker Industries was ruined, and Peter Parker became the subject of public’s shame and hatred.

After that, Parker survived by living at Bobbi “Mockingbird” Morse’s apartment. Although Peter has a romance going with Bobbi, she is grumpy about the fact that he is not contributing financially and just living off her.

Things took a brighter turn for Peter as now he has got a new job at The Daily Bugle.

Going back to The Daily Bugle might look degrading at first glance, but, as Peter Parker clarified in the issue written by Dan Slott and designed by Stuart Immonen, Peter was never employed with The Daily Bugle earlier. He used to freelance and sold some photos exclusively to The Daily Bugle. Now he is not clicking photos anymore, but, he is utilizing his science knowledge to good effect as the science editor of The Daily Bugle. Some of his new staff pointed out that Peter has no journalism experience and that he benefitted because he had a close relationship with the editor-in-chief of The Daily Bugle, Robbie Robertson, however, later on in the issue, he proves his worth to his co-workers.

Amazing Spider-Man #791 is on sale now.
