By now it has become evident that Chris Evans doesn’t fancy being a Hollywood superstar. This actor who will next be seen in the Avengers: Infinity War has been talking since last few years about giving up the acting part and to direct a film.

We don’t know whether he will totally give up acting or limit his acting forays, but, we do know for sure that he is not going to be around as Captain America for long. He is committed to the character, but, at the same time he feels that the Captain America story has to end within the next two Avengers films and this development will certainly cause major disruption to the current outlook of the MCU.

While giving an interview to English newspaper The Telegraph, Chris Evans explained his hesitation to play Marvel’s Captain America right from the outset and confessed that he had even rejected the role initially. The reason for his reluctance was about getting committed for six-movies and also getting himself branded as the face of a huge superhero franchise.

“One of my biggest fears was that the movies were going to be good,” he said. “Because if things worked out, I’d have to do all six of them.

As things turned out, Chris Evans went on to portray the American icon in Captain America: The First AvengerCaptain America: The Winter Soldier, and Captain America: Civil War. He is also going to be a part of the next two Avengers films which will be a two-part Infinity-War which he has agreed to do to wrap up the legend of Captain America.

“I had six films in my Marvel contract, so I could have said after the third Avengers I was done, but they wanted to make the third and fourth Avengers films as a two-parter. They said they had so many other characters to fit in – Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange, Ant Man – and couldn’t get them all into one movie. [I agreed] because it made sense. It’s going to wrap everything up.”

Therefore, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is all set to change after the release of Avengers: Infinity War and the presently untitled Avengers 4. This next set of high voltage Avengers films will see the exit of Steve Rogers from the MCU (he might, however, return for cameos in future movies). Apart from him, Iron Man and even Thor could be departing as the multi-film contracts of Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Hemsworth are also set to end after Infinity War and Avengers 4, though, those two haven’t ruled out the possibility of renewing them.

Anyway, you need not worry much as MCU is not going to die down anytime soon. Avengers 4 as well as Guardians of the Galaxy 3 will bring forward a new phase of movies which will be called the Cosmic Universe. Therefore, it is logical why this hero who is nothing more than a scrawny kid from Brooklyn will have to stay out of that one.
