Nami is a fictional character from Japanese anime ‘One Piece’. Created by EiichiroOda, her character is based off of Ann and Silk from one of Oda’s previous mangas ‘Romance Dawn’. She is the navigator of infamous and powerful pirate crew ‘Straw Hat Pirates’. This pirate crew is the primary focus of the anime ‘One Piece’.

Nami used to dream of outlining a map of the world. She is initially shown to be distrustful of pirates but being around Luffy causes her to have a change of mind. She is intelligent, ambitious, money-minded and a pickpocket. She possesses a three-sectioned staff which she combines with her climate skills to create attacks which as extremely powerful.

She also dons a blue tattoo. At first, the tattoo symbolizes Arlong’s crew but it is later removed and replaced with a tangerine-pinwheel symbol on her left bicep. She starts wearing earrings after the timeskip and keeps longer hair. Oda has crafted her to resemble people having a Swedish lineage.
