The brain behind Madea and the Entertainment monarch Tyler Perry revealed that he has discussed about entering the superhero domain, but, he also shared that he is not ideal for a comic book genre character. He was questioned by ScreenRant about ever having been contacted by Marvel or DC, and the iconic producer, director, writer, and actor stated that he has been, but, it doesn’t interest him.

“I’ve had a couple conversations, but I would always say, ‘I’m not the guy to do this,'” Perry shared. “I’m not the guy that can bring this vision to life cause it takes such a village to pull it together, and I’m not a guy that can work with fifty other directors and producers telling you what to do, how to do it when to do it. That doesn’t work for me. I saw that in a couple of the sci-fi movies that I’ve been a part of, and I think, ‘Uhh, I’m not doing that.‘”

Perry has generally featured only in original stories and has reprised his role of Madea in ten films so far apart from directing 17 films including several Madea comedies and some films in the comedy-drama genre such as Why Did I Get Married? and also The Single Moms Club. While Perry’s appearance is mostly limited to his own works, he has been seen in the big screen reboots of Star Trek and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of Shadows by Paramount. Perry also was associated as an actor in the 2012 action thriller titled Alex Cross.

It is not difficult to understand why studios chase Perry as he is a successful and multi-talented veteran who has made a lot of films and just like how Ron Howard handled Solo: A Star Wars Story, Perry is also someone who can not only manage a project but wrap it in time. Perry also owns the Tyler Perry Studios, and it is not difficult to figure out why Perry doesn’t want to be wooed by either Marvel or DC. According to Perry, the directors who work for these banners are supposed to be part of a village, and that’s why he frankly admitted that he is not suitable for either of the rival studios.

Perry’s latest film, Boo! 2: A Madea Halloween, is now running in theaters.
