Ever since the teaser for The Last Jedi had debuted this year, fans have wondered if Luke Skywalker may take a dark turn in this film, a fact that Mark Hamill had jokingly referred on his Twitter account.

Fans have tried to decipher clues they could get about elements of this film, including analyzing the movie’s final poster to predict the narrative.

Vader and Kylo Ren.

Considering this trend, fans have determined Luke’s villain status by the placement on this poster, the latest in the series of clues pointing towards Luke maybe departing the heroic nature.

The first teaser had Luke declaring the Jedi must end, making fans question what they thought they had known about this character. In many interviews since that first teaser, this nature of the character has been discussed.

While we do not know if this character will go to the Dark Side, but Hamill confirmed to Empire that he would love to at least play an evil twin of Luke Skywalker.

“Oh baby, would I love to play my own evil twin!” Hamill joked.

“It’d be great because you could maybe not reveal its Evil Luke until the real Luke shows up,” Hamill added. “We could watch this guy undermining the good guys secretly – maybe even killing a supporting character out of everyone’s sight, so they all go, ‘What’s going on? He’s crazy!’ And then, of course, the good Luke shows up.”

We will find out more about what’s in store for Luke Skywalker when The Last Jedi hits theaters on December 15.
