We are very close to seeing Justice League in theaters. This movie arrives on November 17. This means that the marketing campaigns are ramping up and but the movie has been given A rating from the MPAA. Justice League will follow suit with the rest of the DCEU, as the movie has officially been rated PG-13.

This rating was revealed through Warner Bros. site for Justice League. The movie gets its rating for featuring “sequences of Sci-Fi violence and action,” which is clear in the trailers that we have seen. This rating makes it clear that the movie is keeping the language clean. And we are not going to see anything sexual. There will be fancy, expensive-looking comic book violence on the big screen. Batman, Aquaman, Wonder Woman and the rest will take down down a bunch of Parademons.

While Justice League getting a PG-13 rating is not all surprising, there is something worth noting. Joss Whedon has been busy doing reshoots. He has been tweaking things up and now that this movie has been rated, that this means that he is done with it. Once the movie is rated, it is in the can. Sound and color can be changed, but the movie that is presented.

Following the success of Wonder Woman, the tone of DCEU movies will be lighter. Before this, Warner Bros. interconnected universe of DC movies has been darker than what we have seen in Marvel Cinematic Universe.

A PG-13 rating means Justice League can reach a wide potential audience. And it is going to need it. All superhero movies are expensive, but given the reshoots and scope of the movie, Warner Bros. may have spent a lot of cash on this one.
