Jeffrey Dean Morgan Is Suspiciously Coy When Talking About Flashpoint’s Batman

When Zack Snyder had enlisted Jeffrey Dean Morgan for a cameo as Thomas Wayne in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, who would have thought that he would stumble backward into casting the perfect Dark(er) Knight for a Flashpoint movie? Those familiar with the source material has been jumping for joy at this notion of Morgan playing the alternate take on Batman. If this were to work, it will be quite a milestone because no character other than Bruce Wayne has yet to take up the mantle on this silver screen, despite others having done so in comics.

Let us bring you to speed, though, before going further. In 2011, Geoff Johns had penned a 5-issue miniseries, Flashpoint that saw Scarlet Speedster go back in time to save his mother. He screwed up this timeline and created a world filled with darker heroes. He then set things right and allowed DC to do a line-wide reboot as New 52.

In the time since, the arc has been adapted as an animated movie, Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox, and served as an inspiration for season 3 of The Flash. But with the existing, seeing it had realized with a massive Hollywood budget is enough to make us hyperventilate.

Getting back to Morgan, those who follow him on social media know that he is a gung-ho when it comes to a possibility of playing Thomas Wayne, going as far as sharing a fan art depicting himself in the cape and cowl.

He is playing it a bit coy now. When appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the late-night show host tried to pry a bit of information from Morgan, who has become dodgy. Well, let us hope that the wheels have begun spinning.

Flashpoint does lack a concrete release date, but a 2020 debut is expected.
