The Flash may have returned to The CW for its 4th season, but it wasted no time to make fans aware of the show’s lighter direction. Having come across Samuroid and Hazard, Killgore, it is quite clear that Team Flash is in for the most unique year of supervillains.

When an abundance of supervillains show up, you can be assured that unique superheroes will not be far behind. And that is what Barry Allen and his team will go to find out next week when they are introduced to Ralph Dibny who is also known as the Elongated Man.

The CW has released a new promo for Season 4, Episode 4 “Elongated Journey Into Night,” which gives fans a glimpse of the craziness that they can expect from the show’s outing.

Elongated Man Debuts

The biggest talking point of this trailer is the first look at Hartley Sawyer’s portrayal of Ralph Dibny/Elongated Man. From the clip, it seems like the iteration of this character is a former cop who a lot of people are after. It does not take long for him to find himself in a lot of trouble. When Team Flash save the day, they do not expect to see his arm stretch half-way across S.T.A.R. Labs.

For comic book fans, it is exciting to see the live-action debut of an iconic DC character. In the comics, Dibny is not only just known for his ability to stretch but also for his sense of humor. And a previously released character synopsis suggested that he will add a lot more fun to Season 4.

However, it also appears that he will not have mastered his abilities. The released photos for upcoming episode show Team Flash trying to protect Dibny. With Danny Trejo debuting as bounty hunter Breacher in these photos, we wonder if he is there to help or harm Central City’s stretchiest man.

So far, The Flash’s 4th season has been enjoyable. The return to the lighter tone was a wise decision as light-hearted fun is what the show does best.
