The brand new Marvel Cinematic Universe release has unleashed several changes in the Thor franchise, but, it has also duly continued to build the path to next year’s Avengers: Infinity War.

Now there are only two films left before the most powerful of the planet’s heroes take on the Mad Titan, and fans speculate that Thor: Ragnarok would set the tone for the upcoming crossover film in a significant way including sharing details of the Infinity Stones that Thor went hunting for after Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Warning: This Article Contains Spoilers for Thor: Ragnarok.

Thor: Ragnarok didn’t connect with Infinity Stones in any significant way. While we did see a brief appearance of two of the objects that we have seen earlier in another Marvel film.

During Hela’s attack on Odin’s vault to find out Eternal Flame, we saw the Goddess of Death say that the Infinity Gauntlet that we had seen earlier in Thor was fake. She then went by the Tesseract and called it “interesting,” before going on to what she was looking for.

Hela’s powers are not connected with the Soul Stone, which is the only Infinity Stone that we haven’t seen so far in the MCU, rather she is just one of the royal Asgardians and quite a mighty one.

Later in the movie, we saw Loki stare at the Tesseract and while the film doesn’t show whether he took it before Asgard was destroyed or not, but, the film’s events suggest that Thanos won’t find it hard to gain control of it.

There was also a very quick visual of the Time Stone, i.e., the Eye of Agomotto which Doctor Strange wears. While he wasn’t shown to use it in the movie, it was adorning Sorcerer Supreme’s neck when he met Thor and Loki, as hinted in the end credits scene of Doctor Strange.

Therefore, the film shows a brief appearance of two Infinity Stones, but, none of them have any impact on the storyline of the movie. While one might ultimately be the reason for Avengers: Infinity War, we are not sure about anything until we see the movie.

It is also apparent that we need to wait until Black Panther releases before we get any information about the Soul Stone.

You can watch Thor: Ragnarok in theaters now.
