King was born on May 13, 1987, in Houston, Texas, US. She is Carolyn (née Clark) daughter, an environmental engineer, and Kevin Accola, a cardiothoracic surgeon. Her birth name is Candice Rene Accola. Although King was born in Houston, she was raised in Edgewood, Florida.

She attended Lake Highland Preparatory School. She also has a younger brother named Kree Thomas Accola. Both of King’s parents are active members of the local Republican political party.
