There is such a great demand for the tickets of Marvel’s upcoming movie Black Panther that even one of the leading actors of the film, the Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o, found it difficult to get any.

The pre-sales of the Ryan Coogler movie have outrun the pre-sales of 2016 hit Captain America: Civil War within the first 24 hours of release, and it has become the bestseller for MCU. Nyong’O plays Nakia, one of the elite bodyguards of King T’Challa, and she tried buying tickets for the movie’s opening night, but, had to be disappointed due to the very high sales demands.

She shared her disappointment via a video on Twitter. “It’s Jan. 9, and yesterday the Black Panther tickets went on sale,” Nyong’o said. “I put it on my social media, I was so excited — ‘Get your tickets now! — And then it occurred to me that I should get my tickets too so I can be there when the movie hits theaters and I can experience it with everybody. Fifteen minutes later — I kid you not, 15 minutes later — I was trying to purchase tickets, and they were sold out. Sold out!”

The maniacal demand for buying tickets is the latest thing about the buzz around Black Panther. At the time the movie’s cast was revealed in 2016, the movie was among the top trending topics on Twitter. A short while back, an announcement was made about Kendrick Lamar and TDE working on the movie’s soundtrack and the title song “All the Stars” has been released now.

Black Panther is directed by Ryan Coogler, and the movie is based on a script that he jointly wrote with Joe Robert Cole. The Black Panther stars Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa, Michael B. Jordan as Erik Killmonger, Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia, Daniel Kaluuya as W’Kabi, Letitia Wright as Shuri, Danai Gurira as Okoye, Angela Bassett as Ramonda, Martin Freeman as Everett K. Ross, Andy Serkis as Ulysses Klaue, and Forest Whitaker as Zuri.

Black Panther will be out in cinemas on February 16.
