3. THE TOYZ TRUCK OF MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE IS SUPER SIMILAR TO THE GREEN GOBLIN
The villain of the film is the named Happy Toyz Truck. This tractor trailer has a mind of its own. The truck looks familiar because it heavily took influence from Marvel’s Green Goblin.
4. THE GOBLIN IS USED A LOT AT TO HORROR FESTIVALS
In 1987, movie collector Tim Shockey snatched the truck up, and wanted to make it a fun prop for the video store. He then set about to restore the head and brought it to Cincinnati’s Horror Hound Weekend. The truck has been spotted since then at horror festivals around the nation.
5. RECOGNIZE THE SCORE USED IN THE MOVIE’S TRAILER?
King took an in-your-face approach in the trailer for Maximum Overdrive and this made him the star of it. He promised to “scare the hell out of” the audience and threw shade at the filmmakers who previously adapted his works. He said, “If you want something done right, you ought to do it yourself” and added, “I just wanted someone to do Stephen King right.”
