3.) Transformers
In the mid ’80s Hasbro gained the rights to repaint and repackage a prominent line of die-cast, changing robot toys known as “Diaclone.” However, in order to sell these toys to American children, the toys needed new names, new backstories, and an everyday cartoon like He-Man. In came Marvel Comics and Sunbow animation, whocreated The Transformers. This chronicled the epic fight between the courageous Optimus Prime and the Autobots, and the wickedMegatron and the Decepticons. Traversing four seasons, 92 episodes and then into a film the Transformers was and stays one of the most popular society properties ever made. The film is especially significant for the ruthless killings of many beloved characters and for Stan Bush’s astounding rock song, “You’ve Got The Touch.”
2.) Star Blazers
This was yet another Japanese import. Star Blazers was created from three distinct seasons of a fanciful Anime called Space Battleship Yamato. It was one of the initially animated series conveyed over to the States that had a serialized story so the scenes had to be disclosed in a sequential manner. The “Star Blazers” were a group of heroeswho were led by Derek Wildstar and Captain Avatar. The Captain kept an eye on a retrofitted battleship named the Argo deep into space, looking for help from the planet Iscandar to repair the harm brought about to the planet Earth by the villainousGamilons. It’s really epic stuff for a grown-up, yet to a child, it was pretty cool.
