After the news of the Obi-Wan Kenobi broke out today, there are rumors that suggest that Stephen Daldry will direct the spin-off. This is great news for all Star Wars fans. One must note that the people to be cast are not yet announced. It could be a while before fans see the project as a script is not yet ready.

Stephen Daldry is in the early stages of discussing with Disney about helming the Obi-Wan Kenobi movie. The director is currently busy with Wicked. Production for the same is to start in 2018, so it could be a long wait before the Obi-Wan Kenobi movie.

Stephen Daldry has not directed anything close to a Star Wars movie before. This means it will be very interesting to wait and watch his take on one of the most loved characters. Daldry is to work with Lucasfilm throughout the development of the movie. This even includes the writing of the script.

But unfortunately, nothing has been officially announced by Stephen Daldry or Lucasfilm.

Lucasfilm is at the finishing stages of the Han Solo movie. Directors, Phil Lord and Chris Miller are reportedly fired for not seeing, eye to eye with the brass at Lucasfilm. They were then replaced by Ron Howard.

People are curious to know how much creative control Disney and Lucasfilm allow their directors. Star Wars is a huge deal to many people across the world. One can safely assume that Stephen Daldry has a whole lot of things to consider and go through before jumping into this project.

But one must note that there is no official statement that Stephen Daldry will be directing the movie. These are just unconfirmed rumors.

It is also heavily rumored that discussions of the spin-offs of Boba Fett and Yoda are going on being discussed.

In either case, fans are assured to see more of Star Wars sooner than later. Lucasfilm had a huge hit with Rogue One and we can see why they want to explore the Star Wars universe.
