Stan Lee is one of the guys who built the Marvel universe. The legendary comic-book personality is the creator of various icons such as Hulk, Thor, Spiderman, Fantastic Four, X-Men, etc. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 revealed that he is the informant for “The Watchers” in all MCU movies that have come out till date.

He was recently talking with SyfyWire.com about the life and times of the comic-book world. Suddenly, he raised the subject of giving another shot to a Silver Surfer film. He felt that NorrinRadd didn’t get proper screen space in the film Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. He said:

“He’s the one I want to see more. He’s the most philosophical of all the characters I’ve ever worked on. And I have an idea for my cameo in that one!”

Silver Surfer is one of those Fantastic Four characters whose film rights are not with Marvel, but, with 20th Century Fox. The Fantastic Four film didn’t have any Stan Lee appearance, and we don’t see any possibility of a reboot as of now.

The grapevine suggests that the next Fantastic Four film will focus on the children of Reed Richards and Sue Storm and won’t feature Silver Surfer. The prospect of 20th Century Fox joining hands with Marvel, the way Sony did for the latest Spiderman outing, is not encouraging.

Lee loves to face the camera. He has done a lot of MCU cameos, and the chances of him being seen in the future movies are also very strong. Those who have been associated with Thor: Ragnarok suggest that his appearance in the film is the most hilarious ever.

Thor actor Chris Hemsworth and director Taika Waititi recently featured in a video montage, and they congratulated Stan Lee and waxed eloquent about his cameo in Thor: Ragnarok. Chris Hemsworth told Stan Lee “You did a cameo today, which is your best one yet, I think.” Taika Waititi said “I met you the other day. You came in, and your cameo is one of the funniest things in the film.

In one of the interviews, Stan Lee spoke about his most cherished and most forgettable cameos, and he said his all-time favorite cameo was the one in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Lee said:

“Oh yeah, my favorite is when I’m drinking with Thor in the second Avengers movie. When I was with him at the bar, and he was drinking a strong drink from Asgard. And I told him, ‘Hey, let me have a sip. And he says, ‘No, it’s too strong for you.’ I’m like, ‘C’mon!’ So I take a sip, and the next scene, they’re carrying me out. The reason that one is my favorite of the ones I’ve done is that it’s the one cameo I’ve done that has two scenes. I figure that’s making me more of an actor. Pretty soon I’ll have three scenes then I’ll have four, and before you know it, I’ll be starring in a movie.”

Fans of both Marvel and DC heroes always indulge in nasty and insulting battles as they both passionately want to defeat the rival camp. The comic-book lovers are forever debating about which publication is better – Marvel or DC. If TV TRPs are anything to go by, then the DC shows such as Arrow, Flash, etc. tower above Marvel’s shows such as Daredevil, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D).

However, it is the big screen where DC doesn’t even get to be in the close vicinity of Marvel studios when it comes to box-office success globally for its films (Wonder Woman was a face-saver for DC).

Recently, an old 1977 interview with Stan Lee by The Hollywood Reporter went viral on the internet wherein he confesses trolling DC comics about the success of Marvel back then. He called the DC portfolio as “miserable” and accepted that they used to try and ruin DC’s publications. This is what he had said:

“They’ve been trying to catch up. They’re doing the best they can bless their innocent little hearts. We used to have a lot of fun with them when we started outselling them. They studied our books, and they’d say, ‘You know, I noticed they use a lot of red on their covers. Maybe that’s it. And they would start putting a lot of red on their covers. The minute we would learn of that, we would take all the red off our covers. And our books still sold better, and that would drive them crazy.”

He further added:

It never occurred to them that we take the work a little more seriously and maybe we have a little bit more of a sense of humor. And maybe people don’t like things that are a little bit stuffy. They like things that are whimsical or humorous.
