Justice League is a hulking beast of a movie with many moving parts. And beyond the inevitable resurrection of Superman, there is another DC icon who has been rumoured for a cameo role.
Yes, Green Lantern, the galactic superhero who safeguards our universe. Rumors of Hal Jordan having a small appearance in Zack Snyder’s movie have been circulating for years now but things escalated in July, when Justice League‘s SDCC trailer ended with a shot of Alfred (Jeremy Irons) saying, “He said you’d come; let’s just hope you’re not too late.”
It is a scene that has been picked apart ad nauseam and fans claim that a greenish glow can be spotted in Alfred’s glasses. The jury is still out on that one but signs do point to Jordan showing up.

Ben Affleck and Ray Fisher handled the question well when they were asked about Green Lantern. Though their responses are not confirmations that Green Lantern is in this movie, it seems like they are trying to hold back on revealing the character’s involvement. At this stage, there has been a lot of evidence to suggest that the hero will appear for a cameo, at the very least, and it would be pretty surprising if this turned out to not be the case.
Regardless, we will find out when Justice League debuts in theaters on November 17th and all will be revealed. It looks destined for box office glory particularly now that analysts have predicted a strong opening weekend with $120 million.
