The Tremors TV series is now happening. Kevin Bacon is reprising the role as Valentine McKee from the1990 classic show, which is the main reason people are very excited. We have confirmation that a series will begin shooting next month in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

A journal had revealed that production would begin in October and continue through November. SyFy has ordered a pilot for their series, and they will film the pilot during this time. If the network does decide to pick up the series, they will shoot the rest. The publication revealed the first, synopsis for this series, which will then set this series to be a direct sequel to the Tremors movie. Here is the synopsis for the series.

“Tremors will take fans of the acclaimed 1990 film back to Perfection, Nev., where, 25 years after Valentine McKee, played by Kevin Bacon, defeated the Graboids, the man who once seemed destined for greatness is anything but. He’s a small-town hero whose glory days faded away with the monsters he braved and whose family moved on when he couldn’t let go of the past. And yet McKee’s hoping that everything’s about to change. His grown daughter coming to visit on the heels of her graduation could signal a permanent homecoming. But no sooner than she arrives, strange and terrifying events make it clear the town is in danger. Led by McKee, the gang from Perfection begins to uncover the spine-chilling truth of what’s hunting them. With the future looking darker than ever, these small-town heroes must shake off the dust of years to see what they’re made of.”

Emily Tremaine was cast to play Kevin Bacon’s daughter in this series, but we are yet to see a casting breakdown. Maybe SyFy may bring in some original casts as well. Since Bacon has not reprised the role as Valentine McKee in the Tremors sequels, there is a possibility that SyFy may have the show exist with the sequels. With Tremors 6 ready to arrive in May of 2018, that may not be the worst way to go about it, assuming that they may make it work.

The Tremors pilot is written by Andrew Miller, who is producing the series with Kevin Bacon. SyFy has not announced a date for the show, but we will learn more after they get the pilot shot. Tremors was set at Amazon last year, but Syfy had issued the pilot order this past June, and Amazon is not involved.
