11. SPLINTER OF THE MIND’S EYE

Splinter of the Mind’s Eye is a standout to say the least. The novel turned out in 1978, soon after the first film and two years before The Empire Strikes Back debuted. The book was initially expected to function as a low budget spin-off of Star Wars in case the primary motion picture didn’t do well.
