Do You Want A Thor/Spider-Man Movie? Chris Hemsworth Surely Does

After Thor: Ragnarok‘s huge box office debut over the weekend, it is safe to say that this Asgardian has gotten the groove back. The lion’s share is owed to the decision to make the third solo outing more of an ensemble movie, relying on team-ups Hulk, Valkyrie, and Loki. In a recent interview, Chris Hemsworth had explained why he is happy with the narrative shift and who he hopes to pair up with next and get into adventures.

“I want as much help as I can get,” Hemsworth told Vanity Fair when asked about sharing the spotlight with Ragnarok costar Mark Ruffalo, “especially if it’s a Thor movie. I’m like, ‘Give me Hulk; give me Spider-Man;’ give me someone to help me take the weight of responsibility off my shoulders.”

It makes sense and is nice to hear it from Hemsworth; since his MCU introduction, Thor has struggled to sustain his movies and hold his on-screen with the Avengers. Changing up this dynamics with other characters in Ragnarok helped with the correction for this hero and while his aside is far from confirmation of a future Thor/Peter Parker meet-up, it will surely get the fans’ attention. A Spider-Man and Thor meetup is not hard to imagine after the characters’ recent critical and box office revivals. Hemsworth’s suggestion remains on paper, but who knows what may happen in the future.
