It is officially confirmed that the latest Marvel Studios film Thor: Ragnarok is past the $700 million mark and has become the first Thor film to do so.

The movie’s third weekend saw it make another $21 million at the domestic box office which took its total to $247.4 million domestically. Internationally the film has made $490.7 million, and it has enabled Thor: Ragnarok to go beyond the $700 million milestones and is now at the impressive $738.1 million mark. This is the first time that a Thor movie has done that. The first Thor film made $449 million and Thor: The Dark World had ended with $644 million.

It is not yet clear whether the movie will cross the $300 million mark in the domestic market. Although Justice League didn’t do very well at the box office in its first weekend, it might just have enough steam to survive beyond the Thanksgiving holiday, and that’s what the Warner Bros. executives must be betting on. That would make the film compete with Thor. Even now, Ragnarok won’t find it difficult to bring its worldwide tally to $800 million, and that would make it the third successive Marvel movie to do that in 2017 after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 and Spider-Man: Homecoming.

The Taika Waititi directed Thor: Ragnarokis running in theaters all over the world and stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Karl Urban as Skurge, MarkRuffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk and Anthony Hopkins as Odin.
