30 years back, RoboCop bombarded into theaters and now it’s going to make a comeback to the extra large screen for a one-night event. The action film featured Peter Weller as a Frankenstein-like cop tidying up the Detroit streets (with lots of blood). It was released in 1987.

In spite of the fact that the film takes place in Detroit, a significant number of the urban shots were recorded in Dallas, Texas, in the heat of August. The hit film was given an X-rating because of the graphic savagery and was re-edited to get rid some of the gut to get it down to an R-rating.

As per The Hollywood Reporter, Paul Verhoeven’s Robocop will come back to theaters for a one-night occasion on 10th September, 2017. It will be streamed live from the genuine OCP Headquarters shooting location, otherwise known as City Hall in Dallas, Texas.

Peter Weller will be close by for a Q and A after the screening that will get “beamed into RoboCop Movie Party screenings across the country.”

The event in Dallas will happen at the Alamo Drafthouse and guarantees OCP photograph ops in addition to interactive ticket and food trucks that will have more than elementary paste.

RoboCop was penned down by Edward Neumeier and Michael Miner after Neumeier strolled past a poster for Blade Runner in the 1980s. The writer asked his buddy what the motion picture was all about and his pal answered, “It’s about a cop hunting robots.”

That was a sufficient start for Neumeier who instantly went to work by composing the story. In another abnormal twist of destiny, it has been reputed that the author could pitch the film while being stranded at an airport with some high-ranked film executives and the seeds for RoboCop were planted.

What’s more, Peter Weller was not the primary choice for the role. Arnold Schwarzenegger was the initial choice as he’d officially played a cyborg and had the cyborg credentials. However, clearly, he would have been too huge to fit into the RoboCop suit which was made using hockey gear.

Weller was picked since Verhoeven felt that the actor could give better facial expressions with the lower half of his face. Also, Weller’s frame fit the outfit much better. It took almost 10 months to get the RoboCop suit made and fitted after rehashed casts of Weller’s body were made and afterwards Weller needed to make sense of how to move in the suit.

RoboCop opened at number one in the cinema world and wound up acquiring over $53 million locally thereby making it the sixteenth best film of 1987. Over time, the action film picks up in popularity. However, sequels and reboots still can’t seem to live up to the enchantment of the first film. The one-night unique screening is introduced by Birth.Movies.Death, SYFY Network, and the Alamo Draft House.
