The Flash Season 4 Villain Is Scarier Than Savitar And He Ain’t Speedster

Fans are eagerly waiting for the next season of The Flash as they anticipate a great comeback after the heart-breaking finale of the last one. Barry Allen had left the Central City and his dear ones to join the speed-force with his mother in the Flash season 3 finale. Assisted by Jay Garrick (Doppelganger of Henry Allen), they went on to beat Savitar  and then the speed-force lost its stability and became the cause of massive earthquakes which unleashed mayhem on ordinary people. There was a need for a mighty speedster to set things right and since Flash considered himself responsible for creating the Flashpoint timeline, he stepped forward to repair the damage.

It is going to be great seeing Team Flash cope up with Barry’s absence and tackle the challenges that come up in the meantime. It’s all going to be absolutely crazy as “The Thinker” a new and deadlier villain will create mayhem in the Central City and make life difficult for Team Flash. He is not a speedster with a morbid plan like Savitar was. Rather, he is an extremely smart guy who will out think Cisco at his own strength.

We had already seen teasers in season 3 and also at San Diego Comic Con, 2017 wherein it was revealed that The Thinker AKA Clifford DeVoe will be the leading baddie of season 4. This is the first time a non-speedster guy is going to be the show’s villain. The actor is renowned for his works in NCIS, The 100 etc. and he is not a novice when it comes to playing larger than life roles.

He won’t rely on speed, but, his wits to beat Flash. Their clash is being touted as The Fastest Man Alive vs The Fastest Brain Alive. He met an accident and got caught in a particle accelerator explosion which gave him extremely powerful meta-human intelligence and he is now on a mission to fix all that’s wrong with the humanity. He is assisted by another DC villain called “The Mechanic”. She will be his go-to person and her character is said to be “the truest of true believers who’ll stop at nothing to help him implement his plan to fix humanity”.

TVLine had recently spoken to Todd Helbing, The Flash’s showrunner and this is what he said:

“The Thinker literally is the smartest guy on the planet, so there’s a lot of chess pieces that he’s moving around simultaneously. As our team is figuring out who he is and what they think the plan is, there’s a lot of fun as we show the audience information and then have our team catch up to that information or surpass it. It’s a big mystery.”

So far we have seen Flash’s physical boundaries being tested and now “The Thinker” will challenge his mental thresholds. WBTV had recently unveiled the official summary of premiere episodes of various superhero shows. This is what the synopsis for “The Flash” season 4 read like:

“Running up against an evil time remnant version of yourself is something no one should ever have to do, but that’s exactly what faced Barry Allen (aka The Flash) as he fought to save the life of fiancée Iris West from the God of Speed known as Savitar. Barry’s victory was short-lived, however, as an unbalanced Speed Force began to wreak havoc on Central City, forcing Barry to sacrifice himself for the greater good. With The Fastest Man Alive now trapped inside an extra-dimensional energy, and unknown dangers lurking in the shadows, it will be up to Team Flash to free Barry from his own personal Hell”

The Flash season 4 will premiere on October 10, 2017, on CW network. Enjoy!
