This is the season of the Awards Shows, and the stars are all prepped up for weeks of parties, luncheons, and obviously the awards.
The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) declared the nominees for their revered Rising Star Award on January 3rd, and it is a delight to know that Tessa Thompson and Daniel Kaluuya have scored their first-ever nominations!
They are joined in the nominees list by Timothee Chalamet, Florence Pugh, and Josh O’Connor.
The runaway star of Thor: Ragnarok, Tessa Thompson has taken the Hollywood by the storm after she played Valkyrie.
She adorned the December 2017 cover of Elle Canada and a lot of interviews featuring her have been published in magazines such as Rolling Stone and Vanity Fair.
Daniel Kaluuya also has a massive year. His debut movie Get Out released earlier in March 2017. The movie has received fantastic critical appreciation, and Kaluuya has landed with a mind-boggling 32 award nominations including a Golden Globe. Kaluuya also co-stars in Black Panther. Thus, his next few months are going to be equally awesome!
It is really great to see the nominations for The BAFTA Rising Star Award, which has earlier been given to several Marvel stars such as Tom Hiddleston, Elizabeth Olsen, and James McAvoy. Last year the Spider-Man aka Tom Holland had won the award.
The date and venue for BAFTA awards will be February 18th, London. We wish great luck to all the nominees!
