It is unlikely that there will be a rendezvous between Team Arrow and Winchester boys in the near future. However, that doesn’t mean that we should give up our hopes for a crossover.

That was the crux of the message conveyed by Stephen Amell, the Arrow star during last weekend’s Salt Lake Comic Con. Amell remarked that he had unintentionally sparked the crossover rumors of the two CW series, Arrow, and Supernatural, to begin with.

I love how me wanting something creates a rumor,” Amell joked.

Although a proper crossover is not on the horizon, Amell is quite keen to get at least a brief cameo on Supernatural.

Without breaking the fourth wall with too much gusto, if I could show up on Supernatural as, like, someone pumping gas in their car or something like that, or just someone that they murder, that would be tremendous,” Amell said.

And maybe it’s one of those things where, I know that it doesn’t make sense and I know that its one of those things where it’s not the same universe, but at the same time its TV and its supposed to be fun so maybe, you know, one of these days [Arrow executive producer] Greg Berlanti will be sitting in a room with the head honcho of Supernatural and they’ll just go, ‘Eh, why not?’”

That said, Amell was eager to keep fanning the flames of the crossover rumor.

I’m glad it’s a rumor though,” Amell spoke in a hushed voice. “Keep it up. It’s definitely happening. Keep it up.”

Although it is not going to be Sam and Dean visiting the Star City as per the current schedule, the upcoming thirteenth season of Supernatural will certainly feature one high-profile crossover appearance. However, the tradition of crossovers will continue at Arrow as it will have crossovers with the other popular DC shows such as The Flash, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl.

The title of this year’s crossover is “Crisis on Earth-X,” and it will feature the heroes from each of the mentioned shows joining ranks and battling their evil doppelgangers from an alternate Earth which witnessed Nazis win the World War II. Amell called this crossover as a four-hour film.

Arrow’s season six will be aired on The CW from October 12, 2017.
