Star Wars Last Jedi trailer at D23: Does this at long last answer the gossip?

WILL or won’t there be another trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi at D23 this end of the week? Well, this has been a point of discussion among Star Wars fans for the past few weeks.

However, unfortunately, as the Live Action Panels are nearing, there are hints of behind the scenes reel instead of whole promos.

Let’s have a short introduction on the Star Wars Show. This comes thanks to the official Star Wars YouTube channel. Furthermore, this is what appears to have fuelled that fire.

The hosts guaranteed that;

“There’s going to be a tonne of new Star Wars stuff during the event. Since Lucasfilm is part of the [Live Action] presentation, and this presentation often gives you behind-the-scenes looks at upcoming films as well as surprise guests, we’d venture to bet you might see something pretty interesting from us during the panel.”

Does that imply that we’ll see BTS footage and not the trailer? Tragically, it appears to be so. This is in spite of the fact that the assurance of further surprises surely doesn’t discount anything.

Rian Johnson’s participation is affirmed. However, it’s not only The Last Jedi that Lucasfilm will ideally be discussing. As it is, we also have the Han Solo prequel (which is due next May) to talk about, especially after its very recent change of directors a month ago; with Ron Howard supplanting the ousted Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.

It had already been guessed that further spin-off plans would be uncovered at D23. This is in spite of the fact that the gossip on that front appears to have become quiet recently.

The three Star Wars movies in the pipeline are The Last Jedi which is due on 14th December, the Han Solo prequel and Episode IX. In addition to this, The Colin Trevorrow directed trilogy is expected in May 2019, and will begin shooting next January. Furthermore, the Live Action D23 panel is at 10am Californian time (6pm in the UK) tomorrow.
