In the latest of a string of sexual misconduct allegations levelled against a few of the biggest Hollywood stars, actor George Takei has been accused of sexually assaulting a man in 1981. Best known for his work in the original Star Trek series, the 80-year-old has become a prominent activist and has a presence on social media. But if recent history is an indication, any and all good will he has accrued over the years will go flying out the window.

Takei is the latest Hollywood star to be accused of sexual misconduct. Names like Louie CK, Kevin Spacey, and Brett Ratner are facing claims of vile behavior. This comes in the aftermath of the Harvey Weinstein scandal, which has torn the roof off of a bottomless pit. The charge aimed at Takei, may be the most disturbing we have heard yet.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, former model/actor Scott R. Brunton had stated that he had been groped by this Trek icon after going back to his Los Angeles condo for a drink. After feeling lightheaded and passing out, the victim says that he came to with his pants around his ankles as Takei was “groping my crotch and trying to get my underwear off.”

After refusing Takei’s advances, Brunton pushed the actor away and left the apartment. Several of Brunton’s friends had confirmed that they had been told the story at various times over the years, while Takei and representatives have denied multiple requests for comment in the hours since THR first broke the story.

If Brunton’s allegations are true, the backlash against Takei will be brutal, as the actor had spoken out about the controversy surrounding Kevin Spacey. When it came out that Spacey had attempted to sleep with Star Trek: Discovery star, Anthony Rapp when the latter was just a teenager, a charge that proved to be the first of many disturbing allegations, Takei shared his opinions, his opinion on the matter. “Men who improperly harass or assault do not do so because they are gay or straight — that is a deflection,” he told THR. “They do so because they have the power, and they chose to abuse it.”

We’ll have more on this story as it develops.
