Trump’s comments have yet again back-fired and many are protesting against what he has said. And this time too, many celebrities are actively participating in the protest through social media.

Zendaya is actively voicing her support for NFL athletes taking a knee to protest the national anthem.

The Spider-Man: Homecoming star has posted photos on Twitter today that shows athletes including Colin Kapernick and Oakland Athletics’ Bruce Maxwell kneeling during the national anthem. The post was captioned “#TakeTheKnee.”

The “take the knee” gesture is a reference to a movement that was started by Colin Kapernick who had knelt during the National Anthem at an NFL game in August last year. This is following the comments from President Donald Trump this week that NFL players who had chosen to protest the national anthem by taking a knee must be fired. Athletes and celebrities responded by joining in the protest and bringing more attention to “Take The Knee Movement.”

Tweeting support for the protest is not the first time Zendaya has spoken about racial injustice on social media. In 2015 she took to Instagram and responded to Giuliana Rancic’s comments that Zendaya’s dreadlocks at 2015 Oscars “must smell of patchouli oil or weed.” Zendaya has shown her support for Black Lives Matter movement and frequently writes about the movement on Twitter.

And the Spider-Man: Homecoming star is not the only figure from comic book world who is showing their support for “Take the Knee.” ‘Batman: The Black Mirror’ artist Francesco Francavilla had tweeted a drawing of Batman “taking the knee” in support of the movement.
