The golden age of Star Wars is back, and it looks like the legendary comedy classic Spaceballs is going to make a comeback soon on the big screen. Mel Brooks has been teasing the sequel from a couple of years. The first Spaceballs was a massive success, and its popularity kept on growing over the years.

It even had an animated series that wasn’t created by the original creators and got abruptly shut down because of the poor reception. A few months back a fan had started attaching pictures of “Spaceballs 2: In Search For More Money” in the metro stations of New York to troll the people and those pictures went viral in a matter of minutes. This mischief also hinted that people are enthusiastic to watch a new Spaceballs movie.

During the screening of Mel Brooks’s classic Young Frankenstein few days back, he has confirmed that he in “Talks with MGM” and he has a “Ready script” for the next installment in the franchise. There are also reports that this movie may be a prequel on how Lone Starr and Barf met with each other, which could be a parody of upcoming Han Solo anthology movie. This film will also tackle the origins of Colonel Sandurz, Dark Helmet, and Yoghurt.

Mel wanted to continue the story, but most of the primary cast from the original movie has passed away, or retired from acting. Mel’s health has declined significantly from past couple of years, and if MGM is serious for this project, they must hurry up because nobody else can replace this legendary Director.
