An anonymous poster had recently claimed on 4chan about Rocksteady Studios developing a Superman video game and also stated that the game would be the cover story for next issue of Game Informer. However, the magazine’s executive editor Andrew Reiner has rejected the same on Twitter and said that the game won’t be featuring on the cover of the upcoming issue.

“Hahahaha,” Reiner posted in response to a question about the possibility of the magazine cover revealing the game. He then clearly said that the magazine is not featuring Superman and their next cover is not related to Rocksteady.

Rocksteady Studios is the creator of the much loved Batman: Arkham series which includes the 2009 game Arkham Asylum, 2011’s Arkham City and 2015’s Arkham Knight. Those games are voiced by artists from Batman: The Animated Series and have a highly appreciated combat system. Last month, Rocksteady Studios’ marketing head GazDeaves stated that the studio is developing a mind blowing project. It is not known what project that is and it might very well be a Superman game, however, nothing is known right now.

We have seen a lot of Superman games come out over the years, most of which are of inferior play quality. Several critics and fans rank Superman: The New Superman AdventuresorSuperman 64 to be among the all time worst games. Rumors did rounds in 2015 about WB Games Montreal the creator of 2013’s Batman: Arkham Origins making a Man of Steel game.

Superman is a playable character in the NetherRealm Studios’ Injustice series.
