The MCU is set to see a significant shakeup when Thanos appears next year in Avengers: Infinity War. This will raise stakes with highly rumored casualties among Earth’s heroes.

While fans are wondering if Iron Man or Captain America will bite the dust in the upcoming movie, Robert Downey Jr. just revealed the answer with a photo from the set of Avengers 4.

With his new Instagram post, Downey Jr. has revealed production chairs for himself, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, and Paul Rudd. While it seems like a regular photo, the fact is that they have only these chairs may be an indication that other characters will not survive the final battle against Thanos.

Fans are worried about Cap and Iron Man, given their Marvel Studios contract status and the concerns have increased after a report had mentioned that a funeral scene is being shot for the film.

With the completion of the Avengers sequel, Evans will have fulfilled all his obligations as Captain America. The actor’s comments further make it seem like he is ready to take on new roles. There is a comic book precedent of this character dying and/or being replaced by his friends.

Downey Jr., however, is content to play Tony Stark in a limited capacity such as in crossover movies like Spider-Man: Homecoming. But the death of the running character in the MCU will have a huge impact on the movies and will be a big plot point if the scenario is captured well.

From the image, it is obvious that Ant-Man will survive and the character is also getting a sequel movie after Avengers: Infinity War. Black Widow, well, she cannot go anywhere until we get her solo movie.

While Chris Hemsworth’s does not have a chair in this photo, he may return for another installment based on Thor: Ragnarok. The actor had spoken about how he enjoyed filming the new with director TaikaWaititi, who had expressed interest in a sequel for the same.

So, who will survive? We can find out next year when the movie premieres on May 4, 2018.
