With Constantine on its way to New York Comic Con, Warner Bros. Animation and CW have revealed now an official poster for the animated series.
DC fans had got a win this year when it was announced that Constantine TV series starring Matt Ryan would return for a new series, which would air on CW seed. Here is the official press release:
“John Constantine … a seasoned demon hunter and master of the occult. Armed with an arcane knowledge of the dark arts and a wicked wit, he fights the good fight. With his soul already damned to hell, he’ll do whatever it takes to protect the innocent. With the balance of good and evil on the line, Constantine uses his skills to face the supernatural terrors that threaten our world and send them back where they belong. After that, who knows… maybe there’s hope for him and his soul after all.”
The live-action Constantine lasted for 13 episodes on NBC in 2014, after getting one do-over attempt when this show was retooled with a female lead and the concept after the pilot. In spite of its low ratings, Cosntantine had a cult following and kept fans rooting for Matt Ryan’s return.
Ryan granted fans’ wishes by reprising the live-action role as Constantine in Season 4 of Arrow; he voiced an animated version of the character in WB Animation’s Justice League Dark film.
