Now We Know Where Captain Marvel Has Been In MCU- Kevin Feige

Kevin Feige, head of Marvel studios has that Captain Marvel will be the “most powerful” superhero. He said:

“With Captain Marvel, there’s so much potential in the comics, and there have been so many incarnations of her powers and the characters who’ve had that mantle that we’ve been focusing in on exactly how do we tell her origin. How does it fit into the cosmic side of our universe? How does it fit into what we’re doing with the next Avengers movies? So really, that’s what’s been delaying that particular announcement.”

“All of the Marvel characters have flaws to them, all of them have a deep humanity to them. With Captain Marvel, she is as powerful a character as we’ve ever put in a movie. Her powers are off the charts, and when she’s introduced, she will be by far the strongest character we’ve ever had. It’s important, then, to counterbalance that with someone who feels real. She needs to have a humanity to tap into, and Brie can do that.”

Oscar-winning actress, Brie Larson has been confirmed to play this superhero Captain Marvel as part of Phase 3 of MCU. There is a standalone movie in works which will be based on Captain Marvel and screenplay is written by Meg LeFauve and Nicole Perlman. But the sad part is that she will not appear in Avengers Infinity War. There have been rumors of her presence in the third Avengers movie, but Russo’s statement denied it.

In a recent press junket for Thor: Ragnarok, Kevin Feige had been asked where Captain Marvel has been for these years during Battle of New York, Age of Ultron, Civil War, etc. and why she was never met by a single Avenger.

Kevin Feige said, “she’s been out there.” He is indicating outer space. It could be “The Quantum realm,” an idea introduced in Ant-Man, explored in Doctor Strange and will be featured in Captain Marvel solo movie.

This will be an origin story of Captain Marvel in 1990’s where Skrulls are big baddies. Carol Danvers is an airforce pilot who had met with an accident that led to her DNA getting mixed with an alien which gave her super-strength. She is famous for being a female superhero who fights for equal pay for women.

The concept art of Marvel’s Skrulls was revealed at SDCC 2017 and it is better than what we expected from big villains of Captain Marvel movie. The artist did not know that his art would be exhibited at Comic-Con, at first he thought there is a leak, but it was revealed to fans at the event. Jerard Marantz, the artist, shared the art on his Instagram page. He worked on designs of Captain Marvel with artist Andy Park.

The pictures of Skrulls are closer to comic-books, and that is good. Marantz had mentioned a Super-Skrull named Kl’rt who possess the powers of Fantastic Four. James Gunn had clarified that there are specific Skrulls whose rights are with Fox.

So how will Captain Marvel overcome the threat of Skrulls who are powerful? The ancient warrior Kree will have a role to play. It says “the film will absolutely include the Kree hero Mar-Vell.” There was a rumor that Mar-vell may be Peter Quill’s father but James Gunn debunked this rumor and revealed Ego The Living Planet as the Star Lord’s father.  Kevin Feige has confirmed at Comic-Con 2017 that Kree-Skrull war will be featured in this movie. The story is set in 1990’s so Mar-Vell’s presence on Earth may tie to the story as a decade has not been explored in MCU. He can assume the identity of Dr. Walter Lawson whom he saw die in a car crash on his way to Florida.

The movie will go into production from January 2018 and filming will begin in California instead of Atlanta, Georgia where most Marvel films have been shot.
