After directing Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, Stephen Surjik knows a few pointers about Marvel’s list of little screen content.

It’s one that will grow one month from because of the arrival of The Defenders. This is a super-hero series that assembles those four previously mentioned freaks not long after New York City is pushed into danger once again. In any case, after the show’s August debut, there’s another Marvel and Netflix property wavering on the edge of the release, and it’ll include Frank Castle.

Also called The Punisher, Jon Bernthal’s gun-toting vigilante was first presented through the second season of Daredevil, when Matt Murdock’s Man Without Fear had a face-off with The Hand. Expanding on their brazen kinship, we are aware that Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen Page will show up alongside Bernthal when The Punisher arrives in the near future. Furthermore, even though Marvel is yet to report an official release date, all signs point towards a mid-November debut.

While we sit tight for official affirmation on that front, ComicBook has featured another interview which features Stephen Surjik, who met up on The Punisher and, all the more particularly, how it differs from its little screen peers. He stated;

“I can’t get into too many details, because of course the NDA that I’ve signed with Marvel are fairly comprehensive. But we finished, I finished directing the finale for The Punisher, not that long ago. So, that baby is in post-production. I think I’m allowed to say that it’s really good.

It is different than the other Marvel shows as far as it is an adult drama. There are no superpowers. You know the Punisher is a character who is based on vengeance, fundamentally. His family is a victim of some horrific thing. But the character himself is well-known and the way that they approach it is very different from the other shows.”

The Punisher’s release window had apparently been limited to November 2017, which would give Frank Castle a lot of breathing space in the repercussions of The Defenders. However, you can expect Marvel and Netflix’s super-powered quartet to unite on 18th August.
