The late 90’s and early 2000’s famous rock band Linkin Park’s lead singer Chester Bennington committed suicide by hanging himself in a room. This incident took place on his private property, Palos Verdes Estates residence in Los Angeles County. All of his family was out when the event took place; a cleaning person had found the body. He was 41 years old.

His band’s debut album known as “Hybrid Theory” is a certified Diamond album that sold more than 10 million copies just in America. A couple of hours before the demise of Chester, the band had released their latest video song called “Talking to myself” which is a part of their newest album “ONE MORE LIGHT.” The title of the album is dedicated to Chester’s extremely close friend Chris Cornell, who had committed suicide back in May this year. Even Chris hung himself, Chester was the godfather of Chris’s kids, and he even performed an emotional version of Hallelujah on his funeral day.

Today is the 53rd birthday of his best friend Chris, and all the things point that Chester’s suicide is somehow inspired by the loss of his close friend. He seemed completely alright and jovial when he appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel show for promoting their new album. There is no information on why Chester decided to end his life, however in the past Chester had been in mind set where he had almost intended to kill himself. He was molested at a very tender age of 7; he had a history of overdosing on drugs and alcohol. Here’s what he had said in one of his interviews:-

“I drank myself to the point where I couldn’t leave the house and I couldn’t function, I wanted to kill myself. I could very easily not be the person who’s sitting here right now. I could be dead. It was a horrible, horrible existence. If I think back to when I was really young, to when I was being molested, to when all these horrible things were going on around me, I shudder.”

The world has lost a great talent, a man who was responsible for winning 2 Grammies and sold 70 million copies of his amazing music albums just in U.S. He had a great high-pitched and incredibly emotional voice; his songs were enormously popular outside of US and Europe too. He now survives by a wife, Talinda Ann Bentley, and six beautiful kids.
