STAR WARS hero Rey has a revolutionary new lightsaber in the latest images and the colour is a huge shock.
Star Wars fans eagerly wait for the Last Jedi trailer and will be devoured for revelations, cluesand hints for Episode 8.
Force Friday 2 is approaching next week and the official Star Wars merchandise is about to flood the industry. Many things have been leaked and the latest one reveals huge information on what happens to Rey.
Star Wars Forces of Destiny is an animated series which is canon and expands throughout the entire Star Wars universe. The show is related to the movies and associated novelisations.
A leaked image shows a girl with Rey’s lightsaber but it has been modified and is of a different colour from what was shown in The Force Awakens.
The leaked image was then sent to Star Wars Youtube channel, Mike Zeroh.
He said: “(in) this image of Star Wars Forces of Destiny product, it looks like the lightsaber is attached to the staff.
“We heard a couple of months ago that Rey will modify the Skywalker lightsaber in this film. Is she modifying to such a degree that she attached it to the staff? It would make a lot of sense for her. She knows how to use the staff very well. She grew up with it on Jakku. We saw her fight off those guys in the village on Jakku (in The Force Awakens).”
“She attaches it to one side of the staff where its not like a double-bladed lightsaberits like a staff lightsaber where it only ignites from one end.”
“The Forces of Destiny show will expand The Last Jedi in the future. This could be a product for the future after the film releases. I’m not 100% that this will happen in the film but it’s a great possibility.”
In the teaser trailer, Rey has been shown only training with a lightsaber. Yet another startling thing is that the lightsaber blade in not Skywalker light blue or green.
The only creature in the galaxy who had a purple blade was Mace Windu. This was one of Samuel L Jackson’s conditions for taking up the role.
A few have pointed that the purple colour corresponds with the official Last Jedi poster. In the shot, Rey holds a lightsaber aloft. She is haloed in blue but the colour red dominates.
Will Rey’s new blade be purple? Will it symbolise that she is the one to bring balance?
