Joss Whedon Is Blasted By ‘Justice League’ Fans For Liking Tweet Criticizing Villain

Justice League released today and some DC fans are not pleased with the director of the movie right now.

Joss Whedon replaced Zack Snyder who had to step out due to personal matters, and Whedon led the film to finish line. That implies Whedon walked into a nearly readied movie and that is indicated by a couple of tweets he liked, and that has upset a few fans.

Joanna Robinson wrote, “JL’s Steppenwolf is the worst comic book movie villain of all time and not even Malekith the Accursed comes close.” Malekith is, of course, the villain from Thor: The Dark World, and in many ways, he did not live up to his potential. Someone later compared Steppenwolf to Tim Curry in Legend, to which Robinson wrote: “Me too and that only made it worse because Tim Curry is the BUSINESS in Legend.”

In case you are wondering what’s wrong in that, the answer is nothing. However, fans are upset that Whedon chose to make his first comments about the film by liking two tweets which criticized the movie’s villain. Whedon hasn’t faced the press for Justice League after joining the film, and all news of his work has come from other actors or producers.

The tweets get varying responses, including those that highlighted the fact that it was Whedon’s official account. Some others grilled him for other factors and claimed these likes to be the final straw.

So Joss Whedon ruined Justice League with his sexualization of the characters and bad CGI, but he has the nerve and audacity to come on Twitter and trash the movie. It’s time for the DCEU fans to run him off twitter like the MCU fans once did,” @LadySreviews said.

Others felt that too much noise is being made about nothing. “People not being able to take Joss Whedonfavoriting a @jowrotethis tweet is a good example of how DC fans still need to purge their ranks,” @Da7e said.

You can make your own judgment about Steppenwolf and the other areas of this Whedon/Zack Snyder film now that it is playing in theaters.
