Over the period of time, we have seen various Marvel heroes battle each other at some point or the other, however, fans love to imagine their fights. Jon Bernthal recently gave his opinion on the possibility of the Punisher beating Spider-Man and surprisingly he was quite emphatic about it.

He was at Salt Lake City Comic Con to discuss his Marvel appearance, and someone asked him if his character could defeat Spider-Man. Bernthal, who is known to have lent a helping hand to Tom Holland with the Spider-Man auditions, was certain that Frank Castle would prevail over the Spidey.

“Oh, come on,” the actor was heard saying. “Come on.”

Decoding the excessive shoulder shrugs of Bernthal might just mean that Punisher would have no difficulty beating the Spider-Man.

In fact, in an alternate comics timeline, the Punisher killed Spider-Man. However, there was a lot of ambiguity about the timeline of the main Marvel Universe. Even when the Punisher debuted, he was pitted against the Spider-Man, and that was decades back. The comic book Amazing Spider-Man #129 witnessed Frank suddenly emerge out of nowhere in front of Peter Parker. While it was really cool that The Punisher located the Spider-Man, but, Peter defeated him courtesy his strength and Spider-Sense.

A sudden faceoff between the two won’t be easy for the Punisher. Spider-Man is younger. However, he has enhanced physical attributes and an athletic body that makes him faster than Frank. That agility merged with the Spider-Sense gives him a great shot at avoiding getting hit by the Punisher.

However, you never know which of the two might emerge victorious in the modern MCU scenario. Spider-Man is a newbie to the franchise whereas the Punisher has been around for many years and has a great deal of experience. Their big screen battle would be highly complicated, and it is not going to be that straightforward to pick the winner. What do you think?

The Punisherwill be available on Netflix sometime later this year.
