JEMAINE CLEMENT: FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS IS COMING BACK THIS YEAR

It’s time for band news! If you are a fan of Flight of the Conchords, then you must read this. Do you think the band is present? By the looks of it, that question might be answered sometime in this year. As stated by Jemaine Clement, the Flight of the Conchords is “going to film a little something this year.”

The duo of Jemaine Clement and Brat McKenzie happens to be “New Zealand’s fourth most popular folk comedy duo,” and Clement has told Entertainment Tonight‘s Leanne Aguilera they will “shoot an hour thing” in 2018 in response to a question about the possibility of them rebooting their HBO series.

This is truly big news for fans, but, there is not enough information about it because he didn’t give any clue about whether HBO is a part of this new hour special or not. However, we can’t imagine them doing it for a network other than HBO, and that’s not only because that’s the network where their earlier show had met great success during its short two-season run from 2008 to 2009, but, also because HBO is the network where they first made it big in America. They had aired their 2005 “One Night Special.” (It is rated among the best comedy specials ever made).

Although the duo has enjoyed great success after the show’s end (McKenzie has gone on to win an Oscar for The Muppets film, and Clement has done a number of important roles in various big projects such as Legion, and they have even toured together. This year, they are set to tour the UK in March, where new material is anticipated.

That brings us back to the question; what is this “hour thing” going to be? If it is anything like their comedy special “One Night Special” featuring their latest songs, we would simply love it, but, even if it turns out to be a sequel episode of the show, it will still be fantastic. It will not only provide their TV characters to once again come back to America after they had been sent back to New Zealand in the finale of the series. We will also get to see Murray, Mel, and Dave once again for an hour.

Doesn’t matter what it is, as long as they are going to be “present” once again.
