Guardians of the Galaxy was frankly a surprise hit, even for Marvel. While its sequel came and went without any excitement, the original movie has still kept fans engaged. The reason was director James Gunn’s remark a few years ago, regarding one major Easter egg hidden deep inside the film.

Countless fans have tried to spot it for years. And it looks like that Screenrant have finally found the treasure. Their theory suggests that the Easter egg is related to the origin of Frost Giants we saw in the Thor films.

In the first movie, we saw the Collector showing some clips about ancient history while explaining the Infinity Stones. We got a glimpse of the Celestials, who used these stones to destroy the unworthy planets and civilizations.

In one such clip, we notice the Celestials destroying people and buildings that resemble the Asgardians in a lot of ways. But wait, here comes the interesting part. In the side, we notice a man who isn’t destroyed when touched by the stone; instead, his face changes the color, and some markings appear.

The theory suggests that this man was Laufey (father of Loki), one of the few who survived the destruction of their planet (which might be Jotunheim). These survivors later evolved into Frost Giants as we know them.

We are still waiting for James Gunn’s confirmation, but this theory seems to be quite interesting.
