Liam Cunningham’s character in Game of Thrones might be a master of diplomacy and fermented crab, but the man behind Ser Davos Seaworth has a handle on the different fan theories about how the HBO series will conclude. Currently filming the 8th and final season, Game of Thrones has inspired many fan theories online.

A stalwart of Game of Thrones, Davos Seaworth has become a fan favorite during his time in Westeros. The character has a brash, charm, a sharp wit and is also one of the remaining characters with morality. Despite being a smuggler, Davos worked his way up in the world and acts as Jon Snow’s right-hand man. Davos is a character that fans are hoping will survive to see the credits roll out.

Taking a break from his day job, Cunningham perused a selection of Game of Thrones finale theories and has given his take on many of them. Speaking on Rolling Stone‘s “Fan Theory Exploder,” Cunningham was had been presented with a scenario that had that his character will be sailing off into the sunset with Tyrion Lannister to resume a life of piracy. To this, the actor said,

“I really loved going back [last season] to what we never saw Davos doing which was his old job, a smuggler, and saw him without dealing with that nest of vipers in Westeros. It was really nice to do that so Tyrion and I, hand in hand, on my little ship, going off into the distance with a beautiful soundtrack, I love it. I think it’s a lovely idea, let’s do that!”

Although the fan theories for all movies are proven false, Game of Thrones followers have a history of hitting the nail on the head. The true parentage of Jon Snow is what many fans of George R. R. Martin’s books had figured out.

While Game of Thrones fans will be overjoyed if Davos and Tyrion make it out alive and became a lovable duo of rogues on the high seas, neither Cunningham nor the viewers can honestly expect that to be how things eventually shake out. Game of Thrones has built itself a reputation for mercilessly killing off likable characters, and it’ll be very surprising indeed if both Tyrion and Davos, two of Westeros’ most moral figures, were to survive until the very end.
