It is no secret that we will be seeing the legendary Godzilla monsters such as Rodan, Mothra and King Ghidorah in Godzilla 2. However, do we have any clue about the Monster king himself? Gareth Edwards, the director of 2014 Godzilla, created the version that is lovingly called as “Fat Godzilla” however, that has upset some fans (especially in Japan where it originated), and they have accused that the Hollywood adaptation of Godzilla is taking too many creative liberties regarding the character created by Toho. Now an image has been shared by Mike Dougherty who is directing the Godzilla 2 and this image gives a peek into the concept design of Godzilla for the upcoming sequel:

While this design seems to be the basic artwork of how Godzilla will appear, still, we can see that the monster has only gotten more muscle and endurance added to its frame. We should tread cautiously as this being the very basic design is likely to undergo some transformation, and we can’t be judging the design until we see some more images.

The Godzilla sequel has a working title as Godzilla: King of Monsters and it will usher in the next chapter of this iconic film monster’s revamped franchise and the premise will be based upon there being more such deadly Kaiju monsters invading the world. We have already seen how Godzilla fought with the MUTOS in the 2014 movie.

The film will star a new set of human actors alongside Godzilla and the new cast includes  Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown, Vera Farmiga (The Conjuring), Charles Dance (Game of Thrones), Bradley Whitford (West Wing), Thomas Middleditch (Silicon Valley), O’Shea Jackson Jr. (Straight Outta Compton), Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights), and Ziyi Zhang (Mulan). Ken Watanabe and Sally Hawkins will reprise their roles as Monarch scientists Dr.Ishiro Serizawa and Vivienne Graham (respectively).

Godzilla: King of Monsterswill release on March 22, 2019.
