The teaser features Joker’s Arkham video game version. It begins with the Joker waking up in a dark and creepy place that could either be a warehouse or a basement and finding himself in a hair-raising scary scenario where Pennywise thrives and frightens his victims before murdering them.
However, the typical Pennywise antics won’t make an impact on this particular target; who probably is devoid of any fears. In fact, when the Batman’s villain Scarecrow unleashed a powerful fear toxin burst onto him, the only response that the Joker gave was to laugh it off creepily.
That should clear any misconceptions that you might have about the Joker being afraid.
Although this is just a fan trailer and never going to develop into a story, the concept certainly has the potential of getting converted into a short “Joker v Pennywise” faceoff which could be real fun.
As of now, you can catch Pennywise in IT whereas the Joker is on his way to make repeat appearances on the silver screen. First, you will see Jared Leto appear in Suicide Squad 2, and then he will follow it with the Joker & Harley Quinn film; and there is also talk about a Joker origin movie to be made down the line.
