While Christopher and Jonathan Nolan invested years enhancing the stock of DC Comics characters up on the silver screen, it seems that their time making superhuman related motion pictures has drawn to an end. The last mentioned, who scripted both The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises, has uncovered in an interview that he and his sibling are no longer partnered with the developing DC Cinematic Universe.

Talking with Coming Soon at the press junket for the forthcoming Interstellar, Jonathan Nolan was quizzed whether he and his sibling would have any further contribution with the advancement of DC Comics-based movies. Keeping in mind that the screenwriter’s answer was brief, it was quite conclusive. That being stated, he gave a touch of diplomacy and kept the door open for a conceivable come back to the developing franchise some place down the line.

Nolan said,

“I love those guys and my brother was involved in Man of Steel with Zack [Snyder] and David [Goyer]. I kind of feel like that chapter for us is closed. To be continued somewhere farther down the line? Maybe.”

As we learned at San Diego Comic-Con a year ago, Christopher Nolan is currently connected as an Executive Producer on Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

However, these new remarks fundamentally disclose to us that he and his sibling won’t be part of any of the DC Comics films that will be turning out between now and 2020. Fans will surely be disillusioned by this news, as it was the vision of the Nolan that restored Batman’s extra-large screen presence after the sad Schumacher years. Yet, in the meantime they completed a full trilogy of movies and it’s difficult to point the finger at them for wanting to proceed onwards to other inventive attempts.

Obviously, Jonathan Nolan’s remarks drive us to ponder what it would be to bring him and Christopher Nolan once again into the DC Comics filmmaking world. For instance, it would seem that the Ben Affleck version of the Caped Crusader in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is a totally unexpected take in comparison to the one included in the Nolan trilogy.

However, consider the possibility if the DC Cinematic Universe were to open up the multiverse sooner or later and there was some sort of continuation of Nolan’s films through crossover?

Christopher and Jonathan may not only be roped in for creative consultation but also to direct and write as well. Anything like this will just happen way down the line, yet it’s solid proof that there are fascinating alternatives accessible!

Well, are you vexed that the DC Cinematic Universe and the Nolans are anticipating going separate ways, or do you believe it’s the correct call for the two groups?
