The latest merger deal between Disney and 20th Century Fox might just fulfill one of the most fascinating wishes of Chris Evans come true.

The Captain America star is dominating the Marvel Cinematic Universe buzz courtesy his beard, however, at ACE Comic-Con, he was questioned about the prospects of playing not one, but, two characters in a potential Avengers/Fantastic Four crossover. Evans appeared to be absolutely ready for it.

“I know, like a little parent trap right? I would love that; I really would,” Evans said. “That would be a lot of fun. I doubt they’d ever let me do that though.”

Before he joined MCU, Evans had played the character of Johnny Storm aka the Human Torch in the first two Fantastic Four movies from Fox. The first film back in 2005 starred Evans, Ioan Gruffudd (Reed Richards), Jessica Alba (Sue Storm), Michael Chiklis (Ben Grimm), and Julian McMahon (Victor Von Doom) and it was a decent commercial success.

They all came back to be a part of the Fantastic Four sequel titled Rise of the Silver Surfer, but, that film failed at the box office. Evans then joined MCU as Captain America in The First Avenger and has already been a part of four more Marvel films as the same character. He is going to be seen in that role again in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War and its next year’s sequel Avengers 4, but, his MCU future beyond these films is not clear.

Even if he didn’t play both the roles, fans would still love to see the movie make some reference to Evans’ earlier role, if the Fantastic Four do become a part of the MCU.

The deal between the two studios will not be finalized before 2019. Thus, there is ample time to plan things. Fans are keen at the idea of Marvel giving its magical touch to not only the Fantastic Four but, also X-Men, another bunch of characters which have so far been kept out of their shared universe.

Evans will be next seen as Captain America in the Avengers: Infinity War, scheduled to release on May 4.
