Batista was living our dreams while he tapped out to Daniel Bryan at Wrestlemania 30 when we saw him the last time. He is second only to The Rock in being a WWE superstar who made a foray into the Hollywood. He has met great success on the big screen, but, he has kept his link with WWE going and in fact, is even thinking about going back to ring for some time.

During a recent WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross’ podcast, Batista spoke about the prospects of making a comeback to WWE. According to the beast, he is not only keen to make a comeback but, is also interested in returning as a full-time WWE Superstar. Batista even said that Vince McMahon is aware of his wishes. Batista was so forthcoming in stating his intentions that he mentioned being ready even to do the house shows and that’s something other part-time wrestlers refrain from.

Batista has been WWE Champion on six occasions and he wants to return for a program with his old time fellow Triple H. Batista laid the condition by saying that the only thing to make this happen has to be a sync between his and WWE’s schedule.

Even earlier, Batista has been open to a potential comeback to wrestling. The interview with Ross was the frankest conversation on the topic, and it seemed that Batista’s return to WWE is certain. If that happens, then it will be a situation worth following. For a wrestler of Batista’s stature, Vince McMahon and team can’t just nod and push him into the ring without any major narrative. Therefore, it would be great fun.

However, at 48, Batista is in the same age bracket as WWE’s most iconic character of the day, i.e., Triple H. He is a couple of years younger than the Knox   County Tennessee Mayor Post candidate Kane. Therefore, any reservations about Batista’s age will be sidelined because – WWE loves its veterans!

We will share more updates as this story takes shape over the next few weeks.
