Warning: Spoilers Ahead!
During his entire journey in Thor: Ragnarok, Thor first lost his golden mane, then his all-weather ally Mjolnir was destroyed by his long-ignored sibling Hela before he lost his right eye to a battle injury. The soon to release Avengers: Infinity War is all set to add to his list of life-changing events.
Although the latest Thor film has a great dose of laughter, the God of Thunder has endured more than anyone from the nine realms might understand. Had it not been for the lighter moments of the movie, the film would have become a tear-jerker. Further, Joe and Anthony Russo also plan to go for a “radical transformation” of Thor in Avengers: Infinity War.
During a recent interview, the Russo Brothers talked about Thor’s development and what lies ahead for him in Avengers: Infinity War. They said that it is going to be a “radical transformation” which will redirect his MCU trajectory permanently, and would be irreversible. The interview’s video is shared below:
Have a look at a quote from the video, shared below:
“I think it’s very similar to Captain America’s situation when we picked up his story in Winter Soldier when Joe and I came on to do our first movie for Marvel. Cap was in a place where we were very much catching him up in the modern world and seeing what that meant to him and figuring out how you move a character that far forward and that far away from where they started back during the 40’s. So, I think in Thor we have similar opportunities with that character in this movie is that he’s going through a radical transformation and he’s moving forward in a way where he can never go back, and that’s always a fun place to be with a character, as a storyteller.”
Irrespective of the shape Thor’s future might take, it is being handled by safe hands. His journey with the Guardians of the Galaxy group will make a mark on his character and will shed new light on him. The fans can only speculate about the implications of this “radical transformation.”
