The upcoming Avengers: Infinity War and its second part Avengers 4 are going to be overloaded with characters and content. However, the brains behind this film claim that every MCU movie released so far will be connected. This is a healthy problem for Marvel because their mega team-up movie scheduled to release in summer has been presently overshadowed by their opening movie of 2018. Black Panther is smashing box office records all over and has already proven to be a cultural phenomenon. While Avengers: Infinity War won’t need to try too hard to attract the audience, but, the story’s return to Wakanda will definitely make people excited.

It is not difficult to understand how Black Panther’s events will lead to Avengers: Infinity War, however, the last one decade of the MCU has featured various stories which are still not wrapped up properly. The ten year anniversary photograph of Marvel made us realize how many famous actors and characters are likely to be involved with the two upcoming Avengers films, and fans are even worried whether the films will do justice to so many character arcs. However, according to the makers of MCU, it will all be connected.

Thor: Ragnarok’s home video release features an expanded look back titled “Marvel Studios: The First Ten Years – The Evolution of Heroes” which narrates the journey of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After giving a recap of all that has taken place so far, the viewers are given a glimpse of the future courtesy some of the main brains behind the MCU’s creation. According to the Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4 co-director Joe Russo, fans will love the way it all will come together beginning this summer.

“Every story that Marvel has told since Iron Man 1 finds a narrative thread in these next two Avengers movies. It is a culmination of all that storytelling.”

It’s a grand concept, considering that MCU has already seen 18 releases so far during the last 10 years. Then there is a possibility that Russo might not be referring to the various Marvel TV shows. In fact, even if we don’t count those stories, there have been a lot of characters and story arcs featured, and it is a huge task to imagine all that getting tied up in just a span of two movies. However, Kevin Feige, believes that Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4 will not only bring it all together, but, will get the dice rolling for the Phase 4 too.

With Infinity War, we’re paying off every little thread and every little tease that we’ve had in what will be 18 films prior to Infinity War. There’s never been anything like this. Being able to, film after film, tease at a larger story. Really building these stories up into a giant conclusion. While at the same time introducing an entirely new direction for the future.”

Just some time back, Marvel’s total collection crossed the $14 billion landmark courtesy the boost from Black Panther. Avengers: Infinity War is expected to add at least another billion or so to that total. All that success means that Feige and team can take it a bit easy, however, by the looks of it, Phase 4 and beyond is bound to be even grander than what we have seen till date (that’s what they plan to do at least). Since Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4 are going to bring together dozens of characters from various films, it is difficult to tell what else can MCU do to better it in the years to come.
